Giving Back, Growing Together: Well Badger Team Volunteer Day
The Well Badger team recently spent half a day giving back in a different way! They traded their desks for the outdoors and joined the Ice Age Trail Alliance for a Habitat Improvement Project along the Table Bluff Segment of the Ice Age Trail.
The team took part in a Fall Seed Collecting event at SwampLover’s Preserve, walking through tall prairie grasses and vibrant wildflowers while gathering native seeds, including black-eyed susan, prairie dock and multiple species of aster. These seeds will be used to restore and diversify habitats across Alliance-owned preserves, helping support pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
For the Well Badger team, the day offered a refreshing change of pace. This was an opportunity to care for the environment and experience a different kind of community impact.
From the spirit of teamwork to the calm of being outdoors and the joy of giving back, the experience was a reminder that even small actions—like collecting seeds —can help cultivate meaningful change.

“So much of our work focuses on helping people directly. It was meaningful to step outside, reconnect with nature, and contribute to something that benefits the larger ecosystem we all share.” -Well Badger team member
