Partnering for a Healthier Wisconsin

Summer Outreach in Action

Summer in Wisconsin!

A wonderful time for children, families and communities to share the incredible bounty, beauty and the fun events that celebrate our state! Summer also offers the opportunity for organizations, such as the Well Badger Resource Center, to partner with local providers to inform individuals and families about the resources available and the services offered.

Partnering with local organizations offers the chance to connect with the unique and diverse individuals who make up our state. Local groups provide a natural and meaningful link to the needs and interests of their communities. They are the individuals who best understand the culture and preferences of their members. By partnering with trusted local sources, we can also empower those groups and individuals to have a stronger impact in their own communities. Each event we participate in broadens our understanding and expands important support networks.

One incredible example of a local partnership that Well Badger is privileged to continue working with is the Ho-Chunk Nation.

For the last few years, Well Badger has participated in the Ho-Chunk Summer Block Party events. These events bring fun, food, community and resources to the children and families within their communities. According to Melissa Govek, Public Health Specialist at the Ho-Chunk Health Care Center in Black River Falls, the goals and advantages of these partnerships are important to their communities for many reasons.

“The Summer Block Parties are a celebration of connection, health, and community. Each one offers family-friendly activities along with resources and education on all facets of well-being, including mental, physical, financial, and emotional health. We are proud to bring people together to build skills, have fun, and find the support they need. These gatherings would not be possible without the incredible partners across the Ho-Chunk Nation and beyond who make each event meaningful and impactful.”
