Spring Gala 2019 – What You Need to Know!

It’s hard to believe we are just FIVE days away from the most unique event in Madison… The Spring Gala! To help those who have never been, or for those who need a refresher, here’s what you may need to know!
  • Pat yourself on the back for supporting a good cause!
  • Read this article, so you are prepared for all that the Gala has to offer!

“The Gala is going to be so much fun,” you think. (And you’re right! As the only event of its kind to take place in the State Capitol, the WWHF Spring Gala is truly a unique experience.)
But maybe you have a few questions like, “What do I wear?” or “What can I expect?” The following guide will let you in on everything you need to know so that you can successfully navigate the 2019 Spring Gala!
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress code is formal attire (black tie optional). Feel free to wear something that makes you feel great (and that you can get down on the dance floor in!). Browsing previous Gala photo galleries is a great way to get some inspiration!

PARKING/ENTRANCE
Parking is available in city ramps just a short walk from the Capitol. For real time parking availability, visit: http://www.cityofmadison.com/parkingUtility/garagesLots/availability/
Whether you drive yourself or take an Uber, once you get to the Capitol, use the MLK Entrance. This is the main entrance that faces Starbucks. All other doors will be locked. Party starts at 8:00 PM!

SEATING
Once you have been welcomed inside by our lovely greeters and handed an event program, it’s time to have some fun!
    • A free coat check is available for any belongings you don’t want to carry around all night.
    • First-come-first serve cocktail tables are dispersed throughout the Lower Floor of the Capitol for general admission tickets.
    • For those who have a reserved table, a seating map will be available.

ENTERTAINMENT
With no shortage of things to do, we hope you get a chance to experience all that the Gala has to offer!
    • Come hungry, since there will be fine dining and dessert stations located on both the Lower and Upper Floors of the Capitol! Complimentary wine, beer, soda, coffee, and water will also be available.
    • The Capitol all dressed up for the evening is a sight to see! Make sure to walk around and enjoy the beautiful decorations.
    • A formal event wouldn’t be complete without a red carpet! Take part of this fun photo opportunity!
    • Live music means there’s of course going to be lots of dancing!
    • Need a break? Hop on your phone and take part in the Gala’s online auction before it closes at 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 19th.
    • And as always, there are bound to be a few surprises before midnight…

Other questions? We are here to help! A Concierge Station will be available near the coat check on the Lower Floor between 8:00-9:30 PM the evening of the event. Or feel free to leave us a question or comment below!
We can’t wait to celebrate! See you soon!
