Tyashia’s Story

Remaining Smoke-free Advice

“I decided to stop smoking when I found out I was expecting. It became more difficult to stay smoke-free once I had my son. To help remain smoke-free, I stopped drinking and tried to stay stress free. Since I’ve been smoke-free my breathing has got a lot better. I have saved a lot of money and I feel so much better physically. I smoked cigarettes for 21 years.

My advice is you can do it! Find out what triggers you. Also, what will be your motivation to stop. Lastly, stay away from people who are currently smoking. Now it doesn’t bother me to be around people who smoke. In the beginning I couldn’t be around anyone smoking. I’m still taking it a day at a time with my kids being my motivation! This is the best decision I made health wise. I know you can do it too!”

“Decidí dejar de fumar cuando descubrí que estaba esperando un bebé. Se volvió más difícil mantenerme libre de fumar una vez que tuve a mi hijo. Para ayudar permanecer libre de fumar, dejé beber alcohol y trataba a permanecer libre de estrés. Porque ha sido libre de fumar mi respiración ha mejorado. He ahorrado mucho dino y me siento mucho mejor físicamente. Fumaba cigarrillos por 21 años.

Mi consejo es, ¡usted puede hacerlo! Descubre lo que altera. También, lo que será su motivación para dejar. Finalmente, mantiene alejado de gente que actualmente fumar. Ahora no me molesta estar cerca de personas fue fuman. Al principio, no podía soportar estar alrededor de alguien fumando. Todavía estoy viviendo el presente con mis hijos siendo mi motivación. Es la mejor decisión que tomé en términos de salud. ¡Usted puede hacerlo también!”
