The MotherPod Episode 6: Millenials to Baby Boomers, 4 Moms Talk Motherhood

It’s almost Mother’s Day! And in celebration, The MotherPod took WWHF Directors from the office to the studio to talk through generational perspectives on parenting. What do Tommi Thompson (Executive Director), Julie Whitehorse (Strategic Initiatives Director) and Sue Ann Thompson (President and Founder of the WWHF) have to say about being moms? Tune in and listen to their authentic conversation!

We discussed everything from pregnancy to grandparenting:

• Advice for new moms

• How parenting changes once your kids start having their own kids

• Ways parenting has gotten easier over the years and ways in which it is more difficult

• How to connect with and support other moms

• Favorite Mother’s Day gifts

Another topic that hits close to home for all three women is health crisis. All three women have gone through cancer diagnoses, and they intimately shared how they handled their health scares as moms. Those same challenges have also impacted their roles at the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation. They are proud to be running an organization that allows women the opportunity to talk about their health and also find support and resources for taking care of themselves.

The bottom line to all of this? It might seem like the days go by slowly sometimes, but before you know it, they’re passed. Take care of yourself, and enjoy your children and your lives together. Be there and take the time to savor the moments. We wish you all a very happy Mother’s Day!
