Early in March, our perinatal First Breath and My Baby & Me program staff hosted their 2017 Annual Statewide Meeting. First Breath is a program which helps pregnant women quit smoking by training healthcare providers to deliver tobacco cessation counseling. My Baby & Me helps women achieve alcohol-free pregnancies through screenings, education, phone counseling and text message support.
Despite facing some inclement winter weather, more than 65 providers traveled to the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in Rothschild, WI to attend the meeting. The theme was “Short-term Change to Life-long success,” featuring several guest speakers and experts of our very own, who presented prenatal care counseling strategies to improve participant outcomes long-term:
Six Ways Participants Irrationally Fail to Choose Wellness – And What You Can Do About It– Dr. John Weaver, Psy. D.
