Remembering My Own Strength

My time with this program was really helpful. One thing I really love about my coach was the no judgement. I was very comfortable with talking to her about my Young women who wrote this storyhabits and the stressors in my life. She made me feel like I was just talking to one of my friends I talk to on a daily basis. She really supported me when I told her I relapsed and she didn’t make me feel bad about it but helped me remember that we are human and we can’t be perfect all the time. She also helped me understand that we have complete control of our choices.

With that being said, I realized I was making the choice to smoke and just like I made the choice to smoke and stick with it, that I can make the choice not to smoke as well. Of course the hard part is sticking to it but if I did it for every other part of my life why is this one so hard. So I put my mind to quitting and went from 10 black and milds a week to none. Well I can say as of right now I’ve had one black and mild in 30 days, which I made the choice to smoke.

It’s because talking to a coach helped me realize and remember how much power I had over me. I put that power to use and now I feel like smoking is not needed and I was able to put other good habits into place like going to the gym, doing my hobbies and overall wanting to be a healthier person to keep me from reverting back to a way I made the decision to stop.
