First Breath at the Community Baby Shower
In March, Emplify Health by Bellin held a Community Baby Shower and Resource Fair that brought together more than 300 participants at the Lambeau Field Atrium in Green Bay. With a total reach of over 700 individuals, the event was a powerful reminder of what community partnership can accomplish.
First Breath was proud to be among more than 35 vendors representing local organizations at the free event, which was designed for expectant parents and families with children under age 3.
Alongside mental health professionals, expert-led sessions and generous giveaways, First Breath had the opportunity to connect directly with the families who need us most.

For Lacey, a First Breath health educator, community events like this offer a valuable opportunity to connect with families and spread the word about the support First Breath provides.
“When I think about why outreach matters, I think about the mom who didn’t know support like First Breath existed until she stopped by our table. There are pregnant and postpartum women who are quietly struggling with tobacco use, alcohol or other substances, who don’t always know where to turn. That’s why we show up. We want them to know help is available, that it’s free and that there is absolutely no judgment here. Meeting families where they are is how we make sure that message reaches the people who need it most.”

That spirit of connection is something the Foundation’s Outreach Coordinator Elizabeth understands well. Building relationships across Wisconsin communities is at the core of her work every day. Elizabeth shared about getting out into the community to connect families and partners with programs like First Breath and Well Badger:
“Events like the Community Baby Shower remind me of the incredible network of people and organizations working toward the same goal of healthier families. We’re not just sharing information. We’re building trust, strengthening partnerships and showing families that there is a whole community rooting for them.”
